Marketing Basics for Young Entrepreneurs
Make a sign you'd actually stop for
Big letters. One color background. Your business name and what you sell. Hang it where everyone walking by can read it from far away.
Have a story
When customers ask, tell them how you started. 'I started making these bracelets when I was 8 because I wanted to save up for a guitar' is way more memorable than 'They're $5 each.'
Take photos of your booth
Ask a grown-up to take three photos at every market. One of your full booth, one of your bestseller, one of you smiling. Save them in a folder. Over time you'll have your own little portfolio.
Get help with social media
If you're under 13, an adult will need to run any public social account. That's still great — they can post photos, video clips, and your upcoming markets. The goal is to make it easy for the people who love your products to find you next time.
Customers who can find you again become regulars. Regulars are how a business grows.
